About me

What I am and how I got here: a little backstory and some links.

Simply put
I just can't stop creating things 🀷🏻

When you have a passion for exploration, keeping up with everything all the time is not easy. But my eagerness to learn new skills has driven me to continually invest significant effort into mastering them.

Over the past decades I have worked hands-on and in-depth in various art, web and tech fields. Most of them are listed here. It’s all I know.

The legendary Jeffrey Zeldman mentioned my first website as a bad example in his book. πŸ’€
Them Flash days

Them Flash days

In the early 00s there used to be a thing called Macromedia Flash and it was awesome to build animated interactions in. Yes, I am that old. It taught me how to think in component based interface concepts and get creative with programmatic constraints.

The legendary web-standard advocate Jeffrey Zeldman mentioned my first website as a bad example in his book. Boy was he right that using Flash just for the sake of displaying custom fonts was stupid (although he was nice enough to use diplomatic words). But I was in love with typography in a time where browsers supported nothing but Arial, Times and Comic Sans. Luckily, a lot has changed for the better since.

Pixel celebs

Pixel celebs

What started as a joke in 09, went viral by accident and landed in top tier fashion stores worldwide. I used to make handpixeled portraits of celebrities. Not much later there was high demand to print them on t-shirts.

My shirts have been worn by NBA all-star Chris Paul (pictured), Juan Mata (Manchester United), David Alaba (Real Madrid) and tons of other influencers. So rad. Some of the designs have been officially licensed to the Star Trek brand.

My latest side gig is music production. I recently started finishing songs that I wrote over the years. Feel free to check out Fat Dip and Monokropolis on Spotify.

Kristof has this 'hold my beer' attitude: everything seems to come easy to him. And he often gets it right the first time.
